RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Job Purpose:

This position is accountable for all human resources activities occurring at Mi Pueblo Food Center locations to include proactive employee relations, HR service deliverables of key activities such as recruitment, performance management process, and policy administration as well as compliance with applicable Federal and state laws.  Manage and maintain maximum service levels for the entire Human Resource function at the facility level in support of core business goals & objectives. Oversee compliance of all corporate driven policies, procedures, programs, processes relating to Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

  •   This position will develop   and maintain close working relationships with salary and hourly workforce   thereby enabling an understanding of key issues facing these two groups.
  •   Proactively identify   workforce issues and bring them to resolution.
  •   Plan, organize and oversee   all activities of the department.
  •   Develop departmental   budgets, goals, objectives and systems in line with the overall strategic   goals of the facility.
  •   Develop and maintain   relationships with management team members, including operations, safety,   training, and payroll (and corporate where appropriate) to ensure an   effective employee communications system is in place and maintained.
  •   Participate in operations   meetings and various employee committee meetings.
  •   Partner with operations to   monitor career path development, employee relations issues, exit interviews,   and maintain an overall involvement in the facility.
  •   Evaluate reports,   decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  •   Recommend new approaches,   policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of   department and services performed.
  •   Ensures compliance with all   State and Federal employment laws.
  •   Manage difficult employment   issues, including communication with appropriate personnel at the corporate   level.
  •   Manage or provide input to   all communications impacting employees to include benefit communications   related to health and welfare plans, open enrollment periods, plan design   changes, etc.
  •   Ensure difficult claims   issues are addresses and resolved.
  •   Contributes to team effort   by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications/Minimum   Requirements:

  •   Must have BS degree in HR   Management or related field. PHR Certification preferred.
  •   Must have 4-6 years in HR   management
  •   Must be able to work   irregular hours to fulfill duties and responsibilities of position due to   multiple shifts.
  •   Have the ability to   integrate with local management, lead a staff, and drive business results.
  •   Have the ability to be   persuasive and relentless in reinforcing the best interests of the company.
  •   Be an effective   communicator, particularly when it comes to discussing employee relations   matters with management or regular employees.
  •   Must have a great deal of   integrity.
  •   Ability to work under pressure   and multitask.
  •   Bilingual   (English and Spanish) preferred.
